Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – a quick update of anything that’s changed on our village website recently and a reminder of events coming up soon.
Rachel Howe and the Theatre Group need another dozen or so people in order to make the visit to the Bristol Hippodrome on Thursday 2nd April 2020 viable. Why not give a ticket or two as Christmas presents? The show is The King & I and promises to be a glorious production from the golden age of musicals – with one of the finest scores ever written. The seats are good ones in the stalls and £45 includes theatre seat, return coach travel from Keevil and contribution towards a tip for the driver. The Post Box in Martins Road is now fully operational again. As those attending the PC meeting last week will know, the PCSOs reported this was one of a spate of such vandalisms across Wiltshire, see the Community Messaging notice here.
Coming up…
- Village magazine deadline is Thursday 21st November – note this is the December/January edition, so if you have notices to place for January, you’ll need to get it in next week.
- Last call for THE WHITE SHEEP OF THE FAMILY, the Drama Groups’ major annual production on Thursday 21st, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November – you’ll need to be quick if you want to grab the few remaining tickets!
- Christmas Shopping officially gets underway in the village with the Church Christmas Coffee Morning on Saturday 30th November at 10am in the village hall, proceeds go to the day-to-day upkeep of St Leonard’s Church; followed by the Christmas Shopping Evening on Thursday 5th December with see several new and exciting stalls: from 7pm in the village hall so pop in for those last minute gifts and enjoy a glass of wine or mince pie while you’re there! This is practically the only time you can actually SHOP in the village apart from the summer fete, so make the most of it!
- Hot on the heels of all that shopping excitement, on Friday 6th December it’s ABBA NIGHT! bring your dancing queen shoes and let your hair down…
- Tuesday 31st December: NEW YEARS EVE Party
- Friday 17th January 2020: WASSAILING EVENING
And finally…
Buzz received notification this morning of the date and agenda for the PC Planning Meeting for planning application 19/09903/FUL at 35B Pyattts Corner to be considered, it is this Saturday 16th November at 9.30am. (Also note this is very close to the expiry of the consultation period on Monday 18th November, if you intend commenting on the application).
