Initiated and organised by Keevil’s WI, our village Advent Trail started in 2018, and we have seen some beautiful windows the last five years! The 2020 lights and trail was especially spectacular, coming on the back of such a challenging first year of the covid-19 pandemic, the way the village lit up to banish lockdown blues looked fantastic.
ADVENT TRAIL AND LIGHTS 2022
Well, what a December of weather we had! First a day of snow followed by the big freeze for a week or more, then rain rain and yet more rain – none of which is helpful to a girl getting out with a camera, lol – but out we did finally get on Christmas Eve…
I made it round to Wick Lane this year (number 14) and I’m so glad I did, what a smashing display! As ever, some numbers I didn’t find or weren’t alight, please feel free to send me your own photos to add to the gallery (deets here) 🙂 The Trail list will stay on the WI page here for a while…

ADVENT TRAIL AND LIGHTS 2021
Sarah planned to go out again with the camera on Christmas Eve, but it rained, and the following night, so the 2021 gallery was taken Boxing Day night. Not all windows were on, some numbers weren’t obvious so I guessed based on the rough location on the list, and some I just didn’t get to, including lower Main Street and The Strand – so please feel free to submit any of your own pictures, deets here.

ADVENT TRAIL AND LIGHTS 2020
From Sarah: “Snapped on Christmas eve – with apologies, I didn’t make it round to Wick Lane for number 13, and not clear whether I found #5 at Pyatts Corner – may be here, I’ve just not seen the number. Also Martins Farmhouse (#9) – I didn’t get all the lights as had wrong lens for wide angle! So if anyone wants to send me more pictures, fire away – deets here.”

ADVENT TRAIL 2019
Bob and Sarah went out on Monday 23rd and photographed everything they found lit – only 13 and 22 were off (or we just couldn’t find), and we didn’t make it back out the following evening for 24 at the church, so if anyone has those, do get in touch! We’ve also added a few photos of other lovely lights as we went around the village… Map of the trail here: advent 2019 Map.
