APCM 2025 in the village hall from 6pm

The 2025 APCM will be held in the Village Hall on Friday 23rd May, with cheese, wine and refreshments served from 6pm. As you know, this is very much a community affair, not a council meeting, with the first part of the evening dedicated to celebrating the groups and people that make Keevil such an amazing place to live, work, and raise a family. Later, the Chair delivers the Parish Council’s report to the Parish and we discuss some matters on which they would like to hear residents’ views.

This year, we hope to hear from the Residents Group looking at the long-term future use of the Banfield Recreation Ground, our Neighbourhood Watch and Community Resilience volunteers, and some of the teams running significant new events in the village this year, such as the Keevil Roots Summer Festival

ANNUAL REPORTS:

APCM 2024 in the village hall It was excellent to see so many villagers and group members making the most of the opportunity to connect with one another over a glass of wine and some lovely cheese, and find out more about what makes our lovely village tick.

Each year the Parish Council has to report to the village on its activities over the last year; this is done at a Parish meeting which, although chaired by the Parish Council, is not a Council meeting and all parishioners are welcome to attend, and to speak on matters they feel are important to our community.

This year, we did things a little differently and made it a real community affair that truly celebrated the groups and people that make Keevil such an amazing place to live, work, and raise a family.

After two years of Covid restrictions, it was time to remember just how much Keevil has to offer: to children, families, and the perennially young at heart, and especially all the new residents who’ve arrived in this special pocket of Wiltshire countryside!

The many and varied groups that are such an integral party of our village life all came along with stands of information, people to talk to, and lots of activities for youngsters, including cooking round a camp fire with members of the Girlguiders, a few overs with Keevil Cricket Club, artistic creativity with the Art Group, dressing-up with the Drama Group costumes, and much more – from the Walking Group to the Community Shed, the Women’s Institute, and everything in between – plus the Keevil Singers performed a chorus or two of some popular songs!

Member of the Community Policing Team (CPT), PCSO Janet Gould and PCSO Mel Culliford were present; members of the 47th Regiment Royal Artillery, who fly the Watchkeeper Tactical Uncrewed Aircraft System which completed successful trials from Keevil Airfield last year, were there with information and to talk to, as were representatives of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Even more importantly, the free refreshments and good neighbourly company made this an afternoon to remember. Thanks a million to everyone for all their hard work, not least to the Marquee Erection team, and to the organising team Geoff West, Alison Rasey, Bob Ayres, Diane Bouault, Sarah Dow, Simon Newton, and Stacy Gough.
