Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with news and events in our wonderful village, whatever the weather.
First, so sorry for the error in the link to Julia’s WINGWALK page in the last Roundup – this one’s correct, good luck! and very much looking forward to Pat’s cake sale on Saturday 3rd July 10.30am 🙂
Talking of cakes, sadly Keevil WI’s Tea & Cake afternoon on NHS Day 5th July will NOT now be going ahead – another covid-diary-casualty – we may get a chance to celebrate this wonderful institution another time.

PLANTS FOR SALE
As you’ll all know, the village Fete has had to be postponed once again – it’s now looking like 7th August is the hot date – however, that does leave a lot of plants that were destined for the hugely popular plant stall in need of a home! You can buy direct from Gerry now, at Little Talboys on Main Street, look for the sign if it hasn’t blown down 😉 – all proceeds go to St Leonard’s Church.
HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING CENTRES SET TO RETURN TO NON-BOOKED VISITS
Wiltshire Council announced yesterday it is ending its online booking system for visits to household recycling centres (HRCs), so you will soon be able to return to visiting a site during normal opening hours on an ad hoc basis. The changes will come into effect from the date that the Government confirms social distancing requirements will be ended, currently proposed to be 19 July, and will be subject to any public health requirements at that time.
Parish Matters
The next full meeting of the Parish Council will now take place on Wednesday 30th June 2021 at 7.30pm in the church – please note this is a change from previously reported. And finally…
Norman has asked us to publish the following on his behalf…
Notice of the Funeral of Janet Hopkins
Sadly, Janet died on 4th June because of a rare cancer. Her funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday 2nd July in St. Leonard’s Church, Keevil.
I have received very many cards and letters of condolence and requests for the date so that the writers can attend. Unfortunately, because of Covid 19 restrictions, only forty people can be accommodated in the Church, and they will be contacted individually. However, subject to weather conditions, a screen will be placed outside in the churchyard and the service will be relayed. If you wish to attend, please bring a folding chair.
Janet was well known and appreciated by many people locally, nationally, and internationally and it is my intention to hold a memorial service in the future when numbers are no longer an issue. She will be greatly missed.
Janet will be buried in the churchyard after the service.
I would like to express my appreciation and that of Janet’s family for the support, affection and love expressed in all the cards, letters, and messages I have received.
