Next Food bank run will be Friday 16th October, so leave any donations in the collection box in the church porch by next THURSDAY afternoon. The staff and volunteers at the Food bank are incredibly grateful for all the support that they are receiving from Keevil, and send their deepest thanks.
The lovely folks at Steeple Ashton Village Shop updated their opening hours in September:
- Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4.30pm
- Saturday – 8.30am – 4pm
- Sunday – 9am- 12 noon
Remembrance and other St Leonard’s diary dates…
Services are now being held every Sunday at 9.15am (apart from Remembrance Sunday) and all are very welcome. St Leonard’s is observing all Covid19 precautions as recommended by the House of Bishops, and so everyone is expected to wear masks, observe social distancing, and use the hand gel which is available at the entrance. There is a one way system inside the Church, and windows are left open to ensure good ventilation
- 9.15am Sunday 1st November is our annual Thanksgiving and Remembrance Service at St Leonard’s, when we read out and remember those no longer with us. Everyone is very welcome to this lovely service, and if there is someone whose name you’d like included, please let Janet Hopkins know: janet.hopkins1@btinternet.com
- Remembrance Sunday 8th November – gathering around the village war memorial at 10.45am for a short act of remembrance including a period of silence and the laying of wreaths. SOCIAL DISTANCING will be observed. All are then invited to the church for an act of worship suitable for Remembrance Sunday.
- At the 9.15am service on Sunday 15th November, representatives of prison fellowship the Daylight Christian Prison Trust will be visiting St Leonard’s to give a presentation and talk about their work (6th November is the Feast of St Leonard, the Patron Saint of Prisoners).
Planning application 20/07934/FUL for the replacement of a fence panel with a new section of boundary wall and a short extension of the same boundary wall at 78 Main Street BA14 6ND. Parish Council meeting details and agenda will appear on the Planning matters page once announced.
You can search for planning applications on Wiltshire Council’s website – which it appears has now been made much easier by the addition of the weekly lists of new applications and decisions.

Our Emergency Volunteer co-ordinator Dave Bouault would like to pass on information about PRIORITY SERVICES DURING POWER CUTS from Melanie Grace, our local SSE community officer. Those on the village vulnerable list have already been contacted by Dave, but for other and newer residents, the following may be useful:
Scottish and Southern Electricity, who run the network for our area, want to remind residents that they run a Priority Service for those who need extra support during an extended power cut. You can join the Priority Services Register, as many did after the Summer power cut, if you…
- Are deaf or hard of hearing
- Have a disability
- Live with children under five years old
- Are blind or partially sighted
- Have a chronic illness
- Use medical equipment/aids reliant on electricity
- Are over 60 years old
