Church and Recreation Ground open up, safety measures in place

The Recreation Ground has now re-opened, although play and exercise equipment remains understandably off-limits; and St Leonard’s Church will open on Monday mornings, with safety guidelines in place. See Notices below…

KEEVIL RECREATION GROUND

Keevil Parish Council is very pleased to let the residents of Keevil know that, from 10.00am on Saturday June 13th, the ‘green area’ of the Banfield Recreation Ground will be open to members of the public. This follows updated advice from the National Association of Local Councils (endorsed by our Insurance Company), received on Wednesday 10th June, that, provided a suitable Risk Assessment and the necessary signage is in place, open spaces can now be re-opened.

The Clerk to the Parish Council has prepared the necessary Risk Assessment, which must include a minimum of once-per-day monitoring. Councillors have taped off all the play and exercise equipment and put up the required signage.

Please note that play equipment still cannot be used.

The Parish Council must also remind all members of the public using the Banfield Recreation Ground that they should follow the Government guidance for 2-metre social distancing and wash their hands/use hand sanitiser when having touched any static items such as the gate or seat.

ST LEONARD’S CHURCH

We’re very glad that the Government is now allowing us to open the Church for private prayer and quiet reflection. Initially, we’re arranging for the Church to be open from 10am to noon on Mondays, starting on Monday 15th June.

As ever, anyone is welcome in our Parish Church, not just regular worshippers! Guidelines for everyone’s health and safety will be on a notice in the porch.

If you’d like to use a prayer book or Bible, please bring your own copy.

Social distancing should be maintained at all times, hand sanitiser will be available at the entry to the Church, and you should only use the designated pews. Stewards will be available should you need further help.

We look forward to welcoming you to St. Leonard’s
