Parish Matters
First, welcome to Cllr Paul Leonard who was co-opted to the Parish Council at the last meeting – do come along to a meeting and say hello!
November’s council meeting will be starting earlier to allow for a presentation and Q&A by Wiltshire Council’s winter resilience team, who have been invited along to talk to Members and residents about winter resilience. Wiltshire Council reportedly expect a severe winter, with an increased risk of storms, prolonged rainfall and flooding – so we want to ensure we are as prepared as we can be. And with WC ending the Parish Emergency Assistance Scheme (PEAS) which helped us with free equipment such as Gel-Sacs, we want to understand future costs so we can budget effectively.
Members will also be discussing the budget for 2027/28 and beyond, so any requests should review the Grant Policy at keevilparishcouncil.gov.uk/governance/ and send requests to Sarah: clerk@keevilparishcouncil.gov.uk. The meeting agenda will be posted here in due course.
And finally…
Such deeply saddening news of the death of dear Pauline Ward of Martins Road – our sincere condolences to Raymond and everyone who knew this lovely gentle lady. We’ve been asked to let you all know her funeral will take place at Semington Crematorium on Tuesday 27th October at 12.30pm. All are invited to share memories afterwards in Keevil Village Hall, whilst enjoying food and drink. Everyone is welcome.
