BUZZ ROUNDUP

Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village come rain or shine…

Now, if you’ve been wondering what all the talk of the Keevil Airfield Games Day is about, make no mistake, this is a first (certainly in this Keevilian’s history) and its all down to the dogged persistance and legendary negotiating skills of Paul Lenaerts! On Saturday 19th August from 10.30am-4.30pm there will be a programme of sporting race games on Keevil Airfield which is being opened up exclusively to Keevil residents and their friends & family – thanks to insurance limitations there are only 100 spaces available, so make sure you get your name down fast! Full details of events and how to enter on the page

And finally…

You know those days when all you need is a little happy to brighten the hours? Well, here’s a tale from our own Keevilian Robert Morgan that sure made us smile, and we hope it does you too! We’ll let Robert tell it…

“Thought I’d let you know about something that happened to me [last] Monday. Whilst operating from Heathrow to Vancouver I noticed a customer I was looking after in business had the surname KEEVIL. When I delivered her drink I said “you’ll never guess where I live” to which she screeched with excitement “you don’t live in Keevil do you?”. From there we had a conversation about the village that she’s never visited but believed her family name came from and that she had a map of Wiltshire & Keevil on her wall back in Vancouver.

Subsequently I have sent her some village pictures and a link to the website so that she can see us in all our glory, which is more than can be said for me at the end of a 10-hour flight and sleep deprivation!”
