BUZZ ROUNDUP

Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with all the good news and happy happenings in our wonderful village, whatever the weather 🙂

Sometimes you just have to go and watch Keevil Cricket Club in action to truly understand the power of the game – never let it be said that village cricket doesn’t have it’s excitement! Although admittedly there are times when the balls just been whacked into the middle of the next field again and one can allow one’s thoughts to drift a little 😉 Anyway, fresh from two wins last weekend the lads will be in great form for the two upcoming home games at The Manor: a League game against Swindon 3rds on Saturday 8th May, and on Sunday 9th a game v Broughton Gifford.

Parish Matters

With Polling Day now only a few days away on Thursday 6th May, just a reminder that you can find details and personal statements from all the candidates standing for election to Keevil Parish Council on the village website here.

Note the next Parish Council meeting, when your new Parish Councillors are due to take office, is scheduled for Monday 17th May at 7pm. Due to a recent ruling about the holding of remote meetings, the venue has not yet been confirmed.

More Dates for your Diary
  • The Keevil WI will be Zooming again on Wednesday 12th May at 7.30pm, for the Annual Resolutions Meeting. There is only one topic for discussion this year: “A call to increase awareness of the subtle signs of ovarian cancer.”
  • The deadline for articles to be published in the June edition of the Village Magazine is 20th May at 5pm
  • Wiltshire’s Mobile Library services are running again and will be back outside the Rose & Crown Cottages at Stocks Green on 24th May 10.35 – 10.55am
And finally

The Keevil Walkers were back out in fine fettle last week with a delightful circular ramble from Wingfield out to Tellisford, and it was lovely to be joined by one or two of our Keevil diaspora! The full walks programme is due to start again in July (subject to Covid-19 guidelines), but watch out for updates via Buzz and the website, and of course the village magazine for details.
