BUZZ ROUNDUP

BEEWelcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you up to date with all that’s happening in our wonderful village!

What do you get when you put two queens of enterprise together (in a safely-socially-distanced kinda way) with a pot of Earl Grey?…

Janice Maskrey and Rachel Howe are organising a SAFARI SALE FOR “CHARITIES OF CHOICE” on SATURDAY 19th SEPTEMBER – 11am – 3pm. The idea is to sell anything legal from your garage or front garden and give a percentage of your takings to a charity of your own choice. Maps of participating ‘stalls’ around the village will be available for shoppers on the day.

To join in with your own stall all you need to do is live in Keevil and register your interest so that your location is recorded on the map. More details from Janice (870438) or Rachel (870661) – registration deadline is 5pm on Monday 14th September to be sure to make it onto the map. The event will in due course be advertised in Bulkington, Great Hinton and Steeple Ashton. We’ll have a page up on the village website for it soon, in the meantime further information on this document SAFARI SALE FOR

In other news…

  • Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting of 6th July 2020 have just been published: KEEVIL PARISH COUNCIL – Minutes of the PC Meeting of July 6th 2020 (1).
  • Thinking of having a bonfire? In a village with so many thatched dwellings, even if your own home doesn’t have a thatch roof, your neighbours probably do, so we all take the risks from airborne embers seriously, especially at this time of year. Thatched property insurance usually stipulates a minimum safe distance of 100 metres for any bonfire on your land, and Wiltshire Council have a really good page of advice and links about bonfires during Covid-19 here.
  • Need a sane and simple checklist of basic steps to staying safe and healthy in a Covid-19 world? Public Health England have it nailed in this no-nonsense guide to working and living safely.

Planning matters

A new planning application 20/03881/FUL  at The Fields, Stables Cottage Keevil BA14 6NH to redevelopment of an existing barn and the expansion of an existing annex into part of the adjoining Dutch Barn

  • Comment on the application here
  • Consultation deadline Wednesday 9th September, target date for decision Friday 18th September 2020.

And finally…

Proud Neighbour alert! Robbie and Loulou Thorne of Longleaze House are chuffed to bits with the arrival of daughter Jemima, and we’re sure her big brother Rowley is absolutely delighted with his new baby sister! Congratulations folks, and welcome home 🙂

That’s all for now – find us on Facebook for real-time discussions on Keevil Village, marketplace on For Sale, Free or Wanted in Keevil, or wander down memory lane on Keevil Memories… thank you for all your support, and if you have any news, pictures or stories to share, don’t hesitate to get in touch
