Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – a quick update of anything that’s changed on our village website recently and a reminder of what’s coming up.
We’re hoping for a dry morning tomorrow, Saturday 14th March, for the annual tidy-up of our verges and approaches, part of the Great British Spring Clean. We will cover our usual route with limits of Wick cross-roads, A361 at Baldham and A350 at Cold Harbour, dumping the ‘pile’ at Coldharbour cross-roads. Meet at 9.30am at the Village Hall for a briefing and then we’ll split into groups – bring your own gloves and don’t forget suitable footwear.
Coming up…
- The next deadline for the village magazine is 19th March 5pm for the April edition.
- The Walking Group’s next ramble is Tuesday 24th March when we visit the charming village of Mells for a lovely circular ramble alongside the stream and old ironworks ruins in the Wadbury Valley to Great Elm, returning on the upper side of the valley on the East Mendip Way to lunch in the Sitting Room at the Talbot Inn. You won’t need to pre-order lunch, but let walk leader Sarah Dow know if you’re coming so she can confirm numbers, ideally by Sunday 22nd March.
- Don’t forget to book your tickets for the Folk Night Evening with FAUSTUS on 18th April!
- And a quick ‘Save the Date’ for 11th July and Music at the Manor…
And finally…
Annabel McKeon and her husband live with her mother Una in Martins Road. Una turned 100 recently – and our Wassail King Bob Ayres went along with Norman Owen to help celebrate her special day. Una is still sharp as ever, and thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories of Forest Hill with Norman, where they both grew up.
Congratulations from all of us, Una!
