Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – a quick update of anything that’s changed on our village website recently and a reminder of events coming up soon.
Saturday 29th June is shaping up to be a day packed full of entertainment at the Manor! One of the highlights of our summer, the Church & Village Fete will be in the main grounds from 2.30pm, and boasts a fantastic line-up of stalls and entertainment for all the family. In addition, Keevil Cricket Club are playing a league game at home against Bradford On Avon, and turning the whole day PINK in support of breast cancer – there will be loads of fun and a BBQ (as well as great cricket!) on the bank behind the Manor from 1pm until 9pm.
And as if the day couldn’t get any better, Keevil’s own Paul Hutchinson will be making sound waves over at the Pewsey Heritage Centre with Pagoda Project, so if you fancy rounding the day off with some great folk/jazz fusion, you know where to go!
Time for a wardrobe declutter? Pat B and Ginny are running a stall at the fete and would love your donations of good quality clothes (adult or children) and toys. Drop off to Pat or telephone either for collection. Love to bake? Debbie would be very grateful for your cakes and scones for the fete, and also if anyone could help with serving/washing up on the day? Ping Debbie if this sounds like you 🙂 (All contact details in the magazine)
Coming up…
- The Walking Group RAMBLERS are out again next Wednesday 12th June for a lovely 6 1/2 mile circular walk through the beautiful Frome Valley from Westwood to Tellisford via Farleigh Hungerford, and lunch at the New Inn – contact Sarah Dow if you’re coming!
- Also on 12th June, the WI will be hosting a talk on Creative Minds, if you feel like going along you’ll be assured a very warm welcome
- The BIMBLERS will next be bimbling on Wednesday 26th June for the lovely circular stroll from Holt to Great Chalfield, with lunch at the Field Kitchen – contact Geoff West if you’re up for it 🙂
- Keevil Cricket Club haven’t quite managed to continue their recent winning streak, but the coming fixtures could change all that! Catch them at home on 15th June for a League game v Swindon 3, 19th June for a T20 v Urchfont, and of course 29th June for the League game/PINK Day/BBQ v Bradford-on-Avon. Full details on the website
Looking ahead…
The next Parish Council meeting is Monday 1st July; it will be followed by a more detailed presentation of the Village Survey results and the chance to ask questions as well as sign up to join working groups. Minutes of the May Parish Council meeting are now available here.
Don’t forget Suzanne Wickham is organising Defibrillator & CPR training – if you’d like to attend you need to email her by 1st July, 20 people are needed to make it viable…
And finally…
Could you help take the church green and household bins to the road verge by the school? Gerry Banks has done so for many years, but it’s time for him to retire 🙂 If you could lend a hand, contact the churchwardens Gillian or Gill…
That’s all for now folks! Keep spreading the word with your family, friends and neighbours to FOLLOW THE BUZZ too!
