Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – a quick update of anything that’s changed on our village website recently and a reminder of events coming up soon.
After the July Parish Council meeting (the minutes for which are here) there was a further presentation and chance to discuss the findings of the Village Survey. Many residents signed up to working groups that will look at some of the key issues in more depth: you can find details of these groups here or navigate to each group directly via the main menu.
Coming up…
- The Keevil Cricket team have notched up some convincing wins lately, and Buzz has finally managed to wrangle Sunday and T20 dates out of them – this coming weekend both League and Friendly teams are at home on the Manor ground so do have a stroll along there and lend them your support! And mark Sunday 25th in your diary, when there’s an ALL DAY BBQ for the Keevil Premier League – 6 teams of 6 playing 6 over crash bash!
- Tea & Chat next Tuesday 6th August, from 2pm in the village hall. You know that yearning you get around mid-afternoon for cake and a cuppa? Sorted 🙂
- The RAMBLERS are heading over to Woodhenge for a lovely walk on Tuesday 13th August, with lunch at the Stonehenge Inn – no need to pre-order but do let Pete Gardner know if you’re coming along. The BIMBLERS will be strolling around Corsham Court on Tuesday 20th August.
And finally…
Earlier this month our own Jane Knowles was invited to Lambeth Palace for a garden party hosted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of womens ordination to the priesthood in the Church of England. Everyone there was part of that first wave of groundbreaking women in 1994. As Jane will tell you, “it was very difficult in the beginning”, but things have come a long way since then. You can read more here and here. Buzz says congratulations Jane!
That’s all for now folks! Keep spreading the word with your family, friends and neighbours to FOLLOW THE BUZZ too!

Team Sapper’s looking forward to our annual visit on 7th September. We always love coming to Keevil. It’s not just for Myra’s tea party but for the warmth of our welcome.
This year’s the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem when so many boys left RAF Keevil and many didn’t return. We’ll lay a wreath for them.
