Welcome to the very first BUZZ Roundup – a quick update of anything that’s changed on our village website recently and some diary dates coming up very soon….
First up – we’ve renamed the old ‘General Notices’ section THE KEEVIL BUZZ – we want to make it a little more newsy and local, so you find it easier to stay in touch with what’s happening on your doorstep. We’ll still include relevant notices from Wiltshire Council, but we’ll avoid duplicating anything sent via the excellent Community Messaging system (so sign up here if you’re not already).
The Keevil Singers held an informal concert and party recently, including a special treat performance by Paul Hutchinson (of Belshazzar’s Feast fame) – picture gallery now live. Also, if you missed the scorchingly fabulous Fun Day, have a look at the pictures here.
DIARY DATES
- TUESDAY 21st AUGUST: Don’t miss the next QUIZ NIGHT run by our lovely Keevil Cricket Club lads the week after next, over in Steeple Ashton Village Hall this time (so plenty of space). Every penny of profit goes to the club so splash out on that extra shandy and packet of scampi fries…! Details on the Cricket Club page or via their Facebook page…
- THURSDAY 23rd AUGUST: Make sure you have anything for the Parish News in to Pat by 5pm at the very latest!
- SUNDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER: Amazingly, Keevil’s Remembrance services are almost here again, with the Double Hills Memorial Service only a few weeks away.
- MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER: is the next Parish Council Meeting. It’s great that more of us are taking an interest in parish affairs, do keep coming along and sharing your thoughts and suggestions. This meeting councillors will update everyone on the activities of the Village Survey subcommittee, so definitely not one to miss. And while on the subject of parish matters, see here for the latest planning applications and decisions… Wiltshire Council have refused the Elmleaze Farm application, and the draft minutes from Keevil Parish Council note parishioners concerns over highway access out at New Hurst Farm.
