Last week a villager was called upon by a male ‘working for a homeless charity’ selling items at the door. The villager asked him if he had a Pedlar’s Certificate and when he said he didn’t, sent him away.
It was reported to the police via 101, and notified to the Neighbourhood Watch group.
His description is male 5’8” medium build, in his 40s, unshaven, distinctive trilby sunhat in cream, blue anorak, blue jeans, trainers and carrying a black hold-all. He had a midlands accent.
Households are urged to use the same technique of asking to see the Pedlar’s Certificate in all cases.
