BUZZ ROUNDUP

Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with seasonal happenings in Keevil village whatever the weather…

Well, where HAVE we been? Last time we were buzzing happy Christmas, and now we’re scrumping the last of the Easter eggs! A big thanks to everyone for your patience during what turned out to be a somewhat intense study interlude 🙂

So, without further ado, lets get to it and see what’s happening in the ‘hood this lovely spring…

First – and with apologies to Steve Maskrey for not getting a Buzz out in time for their first ride this week – the Keevil Cycling Group is back! Meet on Tuesdays 6pm at Stocks Green for a 20 mile ride or thereabouts, with, naturally, a pub stop along the way, and a different route each week. All abilities welcome – no-one will be left behind!

Coming up…

Save the Date!

Make sure you have these fabulous happenings booked and in your diary!

Parish Matters

The Annual Meeting of the Council will take place on Monday 11th May at 7.30pm in the village hall, followed by the Ordinary meeting. Agenda and papers will be here.

For anyone following planning matters relating to Big Dog Farm, the Parish Council has been in close contact with Enforcement Officers for some time, supported by our unitary member Cllr Andrew Griffin: the most recent update being that, following a site inspection, a Planning Contravention Notice is due to be served in respect of various unauthorised works carried out on the land.

MyWilts online reporting

The MyWilts app is the quickest way to report issues to Wiltshire Council – whether its potholes, blocked public rights of way, abandoned vehicles, fly tipping, pavements or overflowing litter bins – the more people that report a particular issue, the more likely it will be investigated. It’s also worth letting the relevant Parish Councillor know – see here for details.

Annual Parish Community Meeting

The 2026 ANNUAL COMMUNITY EVENT & MEETING is Friday 29th May from 6pm in the village hall. Open to all, with cheese, wine and nibbles, this is very much a community affair, with the first part of the evening dedicated to celebrating the groups and people that make Keevil such an amazing place, followed by the Parish meeting. This is NOT a Council meeting, but we will be discussing some matters on which they would like to hear residents’ views, including on the erection of a gazebo on the Banfield Recreation Ground, and a second defibrillator station… see here for more on previous APCMs. We very much hope you’ll join in! More details on speakers to come…

And finally…

Huge ongratulations to Dr Alex Goodwin who, during a Declaration ceremony at St Leonard’s Church, is appointed as the new High Sheriff of Wiltshire, and to the Reverend Jake Eggertsen who is appointed as the High Sheriff’s Chaplain for his term of office. Follow @highsheriffofwiltshire on Instagram – updates from Alex will be posted there soon!
