BUZZ ROUNDUP

Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village whatever the weather…

And with apologies for the radio silence – truly a mad May this year! – lets get to it. But first, a quick reminder the next Ground Based Training Exercise at Keevil Airfield starts Tuesday 24th June and ends the following Friday 4th July, during which normal flying will continue. The new UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) also starts operating this month.

Coming up…

  • And then next Saturday 21st June 11am-4pm it’ll be time for the brilliant MIDSUMMER IN KEEVIL event, with Open Gardens, bellringing, trail hunts, stalls, teas, and so, so much more! Raising funds for our lovely St Leonard’s Church;
  • Before you know it, we’ll be in July which of course means 1st TUESDAY TEAS – which, just to keep you all on your toes this one time, will be on WEDNESDAY 2nd July, 2.30pm in the village hall;
  • Do you have your tickets for this years fabulous retake of Music@theManor with {{drumroll please}} BOOGIE@BLAGDEN25 on Saturday 5th July! Relocated to Blagden House by kind permission of the Goodwins, book with Pat Tucker.
  • The next Parish Council Meeting will take place on Monday 7th July at 7.30pm in the village hall, Agenda and papers will be here

And finally…

Look out for unexpected visitors on Midsummer Day! Chase the Sun Cycle riders will be coming through the village from around 3pm on their annual coast-to-coast, leaving the Thames Estuary at dawn heading for Weston-Super-Mare by sunset – do give them a wave and a cheer if you see them, most are raising funds for Macmillans and other worthwhile causes… Apparently the fittest ones will be the early birds, with the bulk of event riders passing through the village around 4-5pm, tailing off until perhaps the last few as late as 7.30pm.
