Troops training on the Airfield 24th June-4th July

Update from the Airfield Manager, June 3rd 2025

There will be another Ground Based Training Exercise at Keevil Airfield, supporting 23 Sigs Regt, from Tuesday 24 June to Friday 04 July 2025. Flying will continue during this time at normal rates but an increased ground presence is expected.

There will also be a new UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) operating on the airfield a few days a month. As part of the Government’s drive to ensure that spare capacity of the Defence Estate is utilised to support our Defence Partners and to recoup costs via providing spare capacity to civilian industry, a new aircraft will start operating from Keevil Aerodrome. CERTO Aerospace have reached agreement with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the CAA to operate their UAV aircraft at Keevil starting in June 2025. The UAVs will operate within the boundary of the Aerodrome only and inline with CAA regulations for the size and weight of the vehicle. The activity will be separate and de-conflicted from the military use of the aerodrome (i.e. no combined operations) and is currently limited to 3 days a month.
