BUZZ ROUNDUP

Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village whatever the weather…

It’s TOMATO TIME! Gerry’s legendary tomato plants will be available around the end of May – he has the same three varieties as last year – Gardener’s Delight (cherry type), Alicante, and Ailsa Craig – all at the astonishing low price of £1 each (the same price as the past three years!). Please contact Gerry to place your orders as soon as possible on 870191 or email g.vaughan54@btinternet.com – he’s happy to deliver plants in the village if needed, proceeds as always go via the Church Fete to St Leonard’s…

This is of course in addition to a plant sale (including any leftover tomatoes) and Open Garden on the 21st June at Gerry’s house, as part of the St Leonards Midsummer in Keevil village event.

Parish Matters

Wiltshire Council elections take place this Thursday 1st MAY, however there will be no contested election for Keevil Parish Council. Instead, the new council begins office with four Ordinary vacancies, for which it will co-opt. So if you would like to stand, please have a look at the information here, and speak to the Clerk, Sarah Dow.

The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Monday 12th May at 7.30pm in the village hall, followed by the Ordinary meeting. Agenda and papers will be here. This will be the first meeting of the new council, so do come and give them your support.

The 2025 ANNUAL COMMUNITY EVENT & MEETING is Friday 23rd May from 6pm in the village hall. Open to all, with cheese, wine and nibbles, this is very much a community affair, with the first part of the evening dedicated to celebrating the groups and people that make Keevil such an amazing place, followed by the Parish meeting – this is NOT a Council meeting, but we will discuss matters on which they would like to hear residents’ views… see here for more on previous APCMs. We very much hope you’ll join in – there will be presentations and discussions from several of the village groups, including the Recreation Ground Residents Group, and our Neighbourhood Watch

And finally…

A big shout-out and massive thank you to everyone who turned out for our annual Village Litter Pick a couple of weeks ago – a good mornings pickings and good weather for it… full report from Paul on the Shed page here.

Ready to go in 2025!
