Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village whatever the weather…
First up – have you signed up for the Safari Supper yet? We know it’s a way-away but Pat needs an idea of participants so she can start working out the logistics – see your Parish News for info.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s ANNUAL KEEVIL LITTER PICK on Saturday 22nd March starting from the village hall at 9.30am. We have hi-viz, picks, bags and hoops, but if you have your own hi-viz do bring, as well as gloves and wear stout boots/shoes. Fingers crossed the weather is kind 🙂 Teams will be allocated a route and should have at least one mobile phone between them. See you there if you can make it!
A special hurrah to Rachel, Tony, and Norman for another excellent Folk Night jam-packed with some of the best talent in the South West! Click through to the page for full gallery…

Parish Matters
LOCAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS are taking place on 1st MAY – so don’t forget to register to vote if you’ve recently moved here! This is an excellent time to get more involved with village life – several members of the current Council will be stepping down and we’d love to see some fresh faces representing our community. See keevilparishcouncil.gov.uk/get-involved/ for more information, or talk to Parish Clerk Sarah Dow – you have until 4pm on Wednesday 2nd April to submit your nomination papers.
The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Monday 12th May at 7.30pm in the village hall, followed by the Ordinary meeting. Agenda and papers will be here. This will be the first meeting of the newly-elected council, so do come and give them your support.
The 2025 ANNUAL COMMUNITY EVENT & MEETING will be held on Friday 23rd May from 6pm in the village hall. Open to all, with cheese, wine and nibbles, this is very much a community affair, with the first part of the evening dedicated to celebrating the groups and people that make Keevil such an amazing place, followed by the Parish meeting – this is NOT a Council meeting, but we will discuss matters on which they would like to hear residents’ views… see here for more on previous APCMs. We very much hope you’ll join in – there will be presentations and discussions from several of the village groups, including the Recreation Ground Residents Group, and our Neighbourhood Watch…
ROAD CLOSURE DATE CHANGE – the long-planned safety improvements to damaged verges near 18a and 19 Main Street will now take place during Easter school holidays 7th-11th April, for which the road will be closed and a diversion in place. See One Network for further details
And finally…
There’s a big Shed-sized THANK YOU to the Drama Group from the Community Shed for the £160 donation following their closure. As Paul says: “shame about the winding up of Keevil Drama but we will make sure the money will be put to good use for the village”. So, let’s leave you with this classic from 2019’s ‘The White Sheep of the Family’… caption competition anyone? 😉
That’s all for now folks – find us on Facebook for real-time discussions on Keevil Village, marketplace on For Sale, Free or Wanted in Keevil, or wander down memory lane on Keevil Memories… thank you for all your support, and if you have any news, pictures or stories to share, don’t hesitate to get in touch
