Parish Matters
Wiltshire Council recently held a webinar about Government proposed changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), changes that could mean an 81% increase in housing targets in Wiltshire. The Parish Council believes that as a vulnerable area with limitations on roads, transport, sewage and other systems, it is important to respond to the Consultation – you can download their draft response here: Keevil Parish Council draft response to NPPF consultation August 2024. If residents have any thoughts on the Council’s comments, please send them to the Clerk by Saturday 21st September. To find out more about the Government’s proposals and to take part in the consultation yourself, visit: Proposed reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework and other changes to the planning system – GOV.UK. The consultation ends at 11.45pm on Tuesday 24 September 2024.
Unless a Planning Meeting is called in the interim, the next Parish Council Meeting will be Monday 4th November in the village hall. Just to remind you, the meeting will start at the earlier time of 7pm so that residents can discuss matters relating to the Coronation Commemorative Plaque in an extended Public Forum – agenda will be here. Also at that meeting, Councillors will be discussing this years S137 donations and the next financial year’s budget, so whether as part of an established village group or you have a new village project in mind, send requests and suggestions to the Clerk by Friday October 25th – more at keevilpc.com/notices/
And finally…

A word from the Focus Group looking at the future of the Banfield Recreation Ground: look out for the October edition of the Parish News which should be out around the end of next week! All being well you will receive a survey with the magazine, and it’s your chance to have your say about how the Recreation Ground evolves in the future. Think of the area as a blank canvas to benefit you, your family and our collective village community. There are no limitations at this stage so think big!
The surveys are to be filled out one per person – extra copies for family members who live with you can be found in the church porch, or there will be a QR code in the magazine to access an online version, along with full details of where to drop off completed forms.
