
Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village come rain or shine…
Well what a wet September it’s been so far! With any luck though, the sun will shine a little for the Annual RAF KEEVIL REMEMBRANCE this Saturday 14 September 12 noon at the memorial plaque by the Stocks tree, do join us for this special village tradition to honour the memory of those who flew from Keevil airfield as part of the D-day and Arnhem operations.

Also coming up…
- Time to get your wiggle on folks! The WI are inviting everyone to join them for an evening of Belly Dancing with Wafaa TONIGHT Wednesday 11th September – donations from non-members most welcome… and on Saturday 12th October it will be the Autumn afternoon tea in the village hall, with amazing cakes!
- In a real blast from the past, Beach House is generously opening it’s doors for The Beach Arms PUB NIGHT (a Fun Committee event) this Friday 13th September from 6.30pm;
- Sausages, bacon and a cuppa will of course be the only order of service for BREAKFAST IN CHURCH on Saturday 14th September 9-11am at St Leonards – perfect for the morning after the pub 😉
- Deadline for the October Parish News is not far away on Thursday 19th September at 5pm;
- Last chance to get your bookings in for the Walking Group Away-Day trip to Swanage and a beautiful coastal walk on Friday 20th September, then the following week Tony Howe has a smashing little yomp lined up around the Radstock countryside on Friday 27th September, with lunch at the delightful Faulkland Inn. Full deets on the page for both these trips, please let the organisers know if you’d like to join in;
- The next meeting of the Keevil Wine Appreciation Club is Friday 20th September at Beech Cottage;
- Jane Knowles is organising a special service on Sunday 22nd September at 11am in ST LEONARD’S CHURCH to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of women’s ordination to the priesthood;
- On Saturday 28th September 6.45pm our traditional annual HARVEST SUPPER in the village hall;
- And on Sunday 29th September 6.30pm its the Harvest Festival Service at ST LEONARD’S CHURCH;
- FIRST TUESDAY is back on Tuesday 1st October in the village hall 2.30–4pm, the best place to enjoy a cuppa, great cake and a catch-up with friends and neighbours;
- The Mobile Library returns to Stocks Green next Monday 7th October 10:35-10:55am;
- And last but not least for now, don’t forget the QUIZ AND FISH & CHIP SUPPER NIGHT on Saturday 26th October 7pm in the Village Hall.
Parish Matters
Unless a Planning Meeting is called in the interim, the next Parish Council Meeting will be Monday 4th November in the village hall. The meeting will start at the earlier time of 7pm so that residents can discuss matters relating to the Coronation Commemorative Plaque and express their views in an extended Public Forum – agenda will be here along with minutes of previous meetings.
And finally…

…an update on Rural Engagement from our PCSO Kerena Walters of the Neighbourhood Police Teams who will be holding a drop-in surgery for Keevil, Bulkington and Poulshot at The Well between 1:30pm and 3pm on Friday 27th September. Come along and meet your local police officers and PCSOs, find out about local crime stats, and chat about any concerns you have.
