Welcome back to the BUZZ Roundup – keeping you in touch with happenings in Keevil village come rain or shine…
Next year sees the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, and the national conversation is already underway so a quick heads-up on the forthcoming COMMUNITY OPEN EVENING on Wednesday 15th November at 6.30pm in the village hall: first and foremost this is to bring villagers and village groups together to share ideas for commemorative celebrations of D-DAY80 – see www.d-day80beacons.co.uk for details and innovative ways every member of our community can get involved. Representatives from Keevil School and the MOD’s new owners of Keevil Airfield will also be in attendance, so this promises to be an interesting and inclusive conversation!
All are very welcome – it’ll be very informal and there’ll be plenty of refreshments – so if you’re part of the parish, come join in and bring your ideas! A rough idea of numbers would be helpful, so if you can, drop Sarah a message and let her know you’re coming: sarah@keevilpc.com or 07870 909757

Other Parish and Community Matters
The next Meeting of the Parish Council is Monday 06 November at 7.30pm in the village hall. Councillors would still like to hear any further suggestions from villagers on new projects that may benefit from S137 grant support or donations for initiatives directly relevant to the interests and benefit of the Keevil area or any part of it and some or all of its inhabitants. Send your suggestions to the Clerk: sarah@keevilpc.com or come along to the meeting and share your thoughts. More at keevilpc.com/notices/
Redundant BT Phone Box: The PC would also like to hear any other views on the future of the redundant BT phone box near Stocks Green (an unsealed modern unit, not a traditional red kiosk) – get in touch with Sarah Dow with any thoughts.
Thinking of getting involved with your Parish Council? Don’t forget the LGA and NALC are running a FREE online event available on Tuesday 14 November 12.00 – 13.15 – hear how you can be the voice of your community, learn about the work and role of councillors and the huge difference you could make. Claim your free place here.
And finally…
Consultation is well underway, and ends at 5pm on 22 November – if you missed the online webinar, you can watch a replay of it here.
The Local Plan sets out the vision and framework for housing, land and infrastructure for the next 15 years and, once adopted, all planning applications will be determined against the Plan, making it the most important place-shaping document for Wiltshire… and for Keevil, so the more people who respond to the consultation the better. Consultation ends on 22 November – more at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/local-plan
The Parish Council will discuss a response at its November meeting, and would very much welcome your views, so do get in touch before November 6th.
That’s all for now folks – find us on Facebook for real-time discussions on Keevil Village, marketplace on For Sale, Free or Wanted in Keevil, or wander down memory lane on Keevil Memories… thank you for all your support, and if you have any news, pictures or stories to share, don’t hesitate to get in touch
